Otis, Maeve, Eric, and the other fan-favorite Moordale High students are set to return on January 17 for a brand new Sex Education Season 2. It looks like things will reignite between Otis and Maeve in the second season.
Netflix has released the trailer for the sophomore season of the British teen comedy-drama web TV series and it looks steamier than ever. It can be recalled that in Season 1 finale, Otis (Asa Butterfield) seemed to have moved on from his ex-girlfriend Maeve (Emma Mackey) with Ola (Patricia Allison). When Maeve went to Otis' house to tell him how she feels, she caught him kissing Ola.
Otis and Ola appear to get intimate in Sex Education Season 2 but it looks like the romance will be short-lived and it's all because of their parents. In the trailer for the upcoming installment, the two will catch their parents in a very compromising position.
It will reveal that Otis' mother, Jean (Gillian Anderson), and Ola's father, Jakob (Mikael Persbrandt), are dating. This means they could be one big family in the future.
"You've finally got a girlfriend and she's basically your sister," Otis' friend, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), is seen telling him in the trailer.
This could be the reason why Otis is reviving his relationship with Mauve. Towards the end of Sex Education Season 2 trailer, Otis tells Mauve that is it good that they would be back in business.
Meanwhile, Eric will get involved with a new French student in school while having a complicated relationship with Adam (Connor Swindells). Adam is still at military school but is set to return. The French guy asks Eric out on a date and they are also seen kissing.
Moreover, Otis has declared that the brand new year will be no more clinics and less drama. But it doesn't look that way. To start with, there will be a chlamydia outbreak at Mooredale Secondary school.
This is probably why Otis' mom, well-known sex therapist Dr. Jean Milburn, is at the school giving the entire student body a lecture about sexual health. Naturally, Otis is humiliated.
Elsewhere, Maeve will do everything not to get expelled from school. In the trailer, she is seen carrying a large bundle of sheets and threatening Mr. Groff (Alistair Petrie), the headmaster at Moordale Secondary School and Adam's father. Maeve tells Groff that if he wouldn't let her back in, she will expose that the school is full of cheaters.
Sex Education Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on January 17. It will have eight episodes.
