It’s no secret that Meghan Markle doesn’t have a good relationship with her father. Thomas Markle and Prince Harry’s wife have been vocal about how they feel towards each other.

Now, Meghan Markle’s dad is taking things to a whole new level in an upcoming explosive interview. Thomas Markle called the Duchess of Sussex “embarrassing” and revealed that she’s not the girl he raised.

Thomas Markle said that he’s embarrassed that his daughter and Prince Harry ditched their roles as senior royals. As if that’s not enough, he said that Meghan Markle “cheapened” the royal family.

“When they got married they took on an obligation, and the obligation is to be part of the Royals and to represent the Royals,” Thomas Markle said. “And it would be foolish for them not to. This is one of the greatest long-living institutions ever. They are destroying it, they are cheapening it, making it shabby. They shouldn’t be doing this."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, previously, announced that they would be stepping down as senior royals to focus on their family and charities. But, following Monday’s Sandringham summit, it was confirmed that the Duke and Duchess will no longer formally represent Queen Elizabeth at all. Also, the couple is stripped off of their HRH (His Royal Highness or Her Royal Highness) titles.

This decision didn't sit well with royal author Nigel Cawthorne. He even called Queen Elizabeth “mean-spirited” for doing this to her grandson.

“The palace’s decision to strip Prince Harry and Meghan of their HRH titles does not fall far short of being mean-spirited,” he said. “They don’t stand accused of having committed a heinous criminal act. All they requested was to be allowed to lead a more private life not funded by the state. The palace’s graceless response is unnecessarily harsh and shows that no lessons have been learned since the divorce of Harry’s mother from the Prince of Wales.”

Meanwhile, Canada’s largest newspaper, The Globe and Mail, previously slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plan to live part-time in Canada. It said that the country is not a “halfway house” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex while they “work out their own personal issues."

“In response to the sudden announcement of a vague and evolving plan for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – Prince Harry and Meghan – to move to Canada while remaining part of the Royal Family, the Trudeau government’s response should be simple and succinct: No,” it read.
