Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently living their new life in Canada after announcing that they are stepping down from their royal obligations. Although being senior royals were already a part of their lives after they said their “I dos” in 2018, the couple decided that they don’t want it anymore.
Now, a new report claims that Meghan Markle “feels free” and has “never been happier” after the “Megxit.” The insider also shared that the Duchess of Sussex has not spoken to Kate Middleton following the withdrawal.
“Kate and Meghan have not spoken since [the royal exit] happened,” the source said. “Meghan feels free. She has never been happier. She’s happy to be out of London.”
It was long rumored that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle don’t get along. The Sunday People previously reported that things between the Duchesses may have reached its boiling point as the pair has allegedly not communicated on their family WhatsApp group in six long months.
Before Meghan Markle joined the royal family, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry were known as the royal trio. The young royals share an extremely close bond, and they are often seen at royal engagements sharing a good laugh. When the former actress became a part of the mix, their trio became the royal fab four.
While the Cambridges and Sussexes worked well at first, their relationship slowly became different. So when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle removed themselves from their joint foundation with Prince William and Kate Middleton, it seemingly confirmed their feud.
A lot of royal fans believe that Meghan Markle should exert some effort into fitting in with the royal family and not the other way around. Some thought that the reason why the Duchess of Sussex is having a hard time building a relationship with the other members of the royal family is that she didn’t have a good relationship with her own family.
Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that Prince William and Kate Middleton have yet to put a foot wrong. In other words, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are doing their duties so well that they continue to bring honor to the royal family.
