Meghan Markle’s name has been on everyone’s lips after she and Prince Harry announced that they will be stepping back from being senior royals. However, their decision didn’t sit well with a lot of people and they garnered even more criticisms than before.

Now, Meghan Markle’s best friend is seemingly shifting the attention to Kate Middleton by dismissing her hard work. Jessica Mulroney posted something on social media that was perfect timing when the Duchess of Cambridge posted several photos to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

“Pretty pictures are pretty pictures,” Meghan Markle’s best friend posted on her Instagram story. “Strive to use your platform for good and spread stories of incredible people striving to make this world a better place.”

Although Jessica Mulroney didn’t mention any names, many were convinced that she was taking a jab at Kate Middleton. As expected, Meghan Markle’s best friend’s post irked a lot of royal fans.

“Please do remind us what good you are spreading @jessicamulroney? If this IG post is a dig at the Duchess of Cambridge - timing suggests so - then you’ve failed dramatically,” one wrote. “Jessica is definitely making the world a better place with her photos. One a** pic at a time,” another one shared. “Jessica Mulroney is Jewish and she's pi**ing on someone who is trying to honor the victims of the Holocaust? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT WOMAN?” one fan commented.

After learning about the backlash that his wife was getting online, Jessica Mulroney's husband, Ben, took to Twitter to defend her. He said that Meghan Markle’s best friend was trying to raise funds and awareness for the victims of Flight 752 and that she wasn’t talking about Kate Middleton.

“Yesterday, my wife @jessicamulroney posted a call on her IG to raise funds/awareness for the families of the victims of Flight 752,” Ben Mulroney wrote. “It was accompanied by an IG story that conveyed that actions trump thoughts & prayers. Shame on anyone who has tried to twist it into anything else.”

However, his effort to defend his wife backfired. A lot of royal fans were not convinced with his explanation as Jessica Mulroney’s post didn’t say anything about fundraising.

“Her husband is trying to say it's not what she meant. But do you see anything pertaining to fundraising in the post?” one shared. “To disregard these powerful images & at the same time disrespect, the people in them inferring they & their stories aren’t worthy to be focused on is vile. That they aren’t “incredible” & aren’t “trying to make the world a better place”. All done to bully the DoC. SHAME on her,” another one commented.
