Kensington Palace announced earlier this week that Prince William and Kate Middleton will "undertake" a royal visit to Ireland next month. It was said that they will go to Dublin and Galway from March 3 to March 5.

As noted by the reports, this will serve as their first official visit to the Republic. However, no details yet have been shared as to what the Cambridge couple will do during their stay.

According to The Irish Times, though, the Mayor of Galway, Cllr. Mike Cubbard stated that Prince William and Kate Middleton will "get a warm reception" upon their arrival in the city. He said that he "expects" among the citizens of the city.

The publication also reported that the city Mayor was known for being one of the Mayors who "pulled out" the commemoration for the Royal Irish Constabulary. Nevertheless, it was stated that Cllr. Mike Cubbard believes that this was not "evidence" for concluding that there is an "anti-British" dynamic in Ireland.

The city Mayor reportedly said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "young." Not to mention, they are a "different angle" to British politics. So, these are some factors that must be considered as well.

Cllr. Mike Cubbard further shared that the couple's arrival in their city is a "positive" one for their small city. Hence, they will "make the most" out of it.

Despite the lack of details about their visits and engagements, Prince William and Kate Middleton were said to visit the offices of the city. They were also reported to "hear" the European Capital of Culture events.

A "walkabout" in the city was also claimed to be expected as road closures have been already announced in Galway for the dates of the visit. As revealed by the same publication, roads in the streets of Williams, Williamsgate, Shop, Mainguard, and High will be closed from 6 in the morning up to 2 in the afternoon. There were also speculations that the Abbeygate Street will also be included for the road closure schedule.

Newstalk also shared a similar report about Prince William and Kate Middleton's planned visit to Ireland. Based on the report's assertions, several members of the British Royal Family already made official visits to the country.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla reportedly made five official trips to the country in the last five years. Their most recent one was in May, where the royals were revealed to meet with President Michael Higgins.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are now living outside the monarchy, were also said to participate in a trip last July.
