It's been a while since the last speculations about Sex And The City 3 movie hit the headlines. Now, new rumors emerged that Sarah Jessica Parker is in talks with Netflix to do the third installment of the movie.

In 2017, it was reported that the planned Sex And The City 3 movie had been canceled after Kim Cattrall, on the four lead stars in the franchise, refused to sign for another installment. Cattrall played the role of Samantha Jones, the oldest and most sexually confident of the group of four independent career women.

The Sex And The City TV series ran for six seasons. It spawned two films, Sex And The City in 2008 and Sex And The City 2 two years later. It also has a prequel TV series, The Carrie Diaries.

The National Enquirer published a story this week claiming Sarah Jessica Parker is pushing for another movie installment. Apparently, the third installment will no longer include Cattrall, only the three remaining lead actresses: Parker who played Carrie Bradshaw, Kristin Davis as Charlotte York, and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes.

The tabloid cited some sources as saying that there will be a new storyline in the new sequel. The three actresses, allegedly, feel that killing off Samantha in the new story arc would give her friends a new life challenge to deal with.

As good as it sounds that the fan-favorite TV series is returning with a new movie, the truth is it is far from reality. Gossip Cop spoke to a person who is authorized to speak on behalf of Parker and assured the outlet that the National Enquirer claim is false.

Although the New Year's Eve actress has been very vocal about her love for the franchise, she and her co-stars had stated in 2017 that there is no third movie in the works. Since then, there have been no updates if there are changes on their statement.

In addition, Parker is quite busy with her business which includes designing her shoe line, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. The 54-year-old actress will also star in the revival of the Tony-winning play Plaza Suite with her husband Matthew Broderick.

The play already kicked off its pre-Broadway run in Boston earlier this month. It is set to open on Broadway in April. If there is a possibility of a Sex And The City 3, it is definitely not happening anytime soon.

Gossip Cop also noted that this is not the first time that rumors about Sex And The City 3 have emerged in the past years. Aside from a similar claim in 2017 that Cattrall will no longer part of the third installment, Star also claimed the following year that Parker was teaming up with Lena Dunham for a TV series reboot.

In January 2019, the National Enquirer also alleged that Cattrall has changed her mind and has been reconsidering signing on for the third movie. Gossip Cop debunked all claims.
