Is the royal family falling apart? After a horrible 2019, Queen Elizabeth and her kin are receiving more bad news. In the last two weeks, two royal couples have confirmed the end of their marriage.

On Feb. 10, Peter Phillips, the Queen's first grandson, announced that he and his wife of 12 years, Autumn Kelly Phillips, were divorcing. According to The Sun, Queen Elizabeth is upset over the sad news while a friend of Peter said that the royal grandson is also devastated.

Peter is the son of Princess Anne and Capt. Mark Phillips. He and his wife have two daughters, Savannah and Isla. They promised to co-parent the kids but friends worry that Autumn, who is a native of Canada, might decide to leave the U.K. and go back to her home country.

Sources said that no other party is involved in the divorce. The couple has, apparently, grown apart though Peter thought their marriage was happy.

Peter and Autumn met in 2003 and they got engaged in 2007. Just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the couple married in St. George's Chapel in Windsor in 2008. Autumn's family from Canada flew in while Queen Elizabeth was in attendance at the royal wedding.

Barely a week after Peter and Autumn announced their divorce, the Earl and Countess of Snowdown also confirmed they have amicably agreed to divorce. The Earl, David Armstrong-Jones or David Linley, is the nephew of Queen Elizabeth and the son of Princess Margaret.

David was married to his wife, Samantha, for more than 25 years. The couple have two children together, Viscount Linley, Charles Armstrong-Jones and Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones.

According to Daily Mail, the Queen is saddened by the end of her nephew's marriage. Friends said that the couple drifted apart because David's frequent travels abroad for work.

David inherited the title of the Earl of Snowdon after his father, Anthony Armstrong-Jones, died in 2017. He has his own high-end furniture business and has published books and lectures about interior styling.

The Earl's mother, the Queen's beloved younger sister, died in 2002. Friends say that David is close to his aunt and cousin Prince Charles. He usually joins the family for Christmas in Sandringham and visits Queen Elizabeth in Balmoral for the summer.

Like his father, David is an unconventional royal as he rides the bicycle around London and was mistaken as a traffic warden quite a number of times. Outside of the royal family's official work, he is the hardest-working royal because of his thriving business.

His wife lives in Gloucestershire for the most part, while David is based in Kensington. Sources told Daily Mail that the divorce is a surprise as the couple is very much into their children.
