Just recently, the social media platform is filled with stunts also known as "viral challenges", which are created for fun and enjoyment not just for those who accept the challenge but also for people who are about to watch their videos. But unfortunately, not all challenges are safe and harmless. A dangerous one has just gone viral on TikTok. This challenge was called Tripping Jump or Skull Breaker Challenge.

To do the Skull Breaker Challenge, there must be three people to do act. The goal is to let the person in the middle jump as the other two will wait for the perfect timing to trip his legs from behind. The challenger will then fall on his back, hence the origin of its name, as explained by NDTV.

The Skull Breaker challenge has just created a buzz on the internet field as a teen died after she and her classmates bravely accepted it. As she tripped, the 16-year-old student dropped unto the ground hitting her head hard.

According to the witnesses, as soon as she was down, the girl has already lost consciousness. She was then brought to the nearest hospital where she was declared dead.

Dr. Anthony Manio, a Surgeon and resident physician of the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center in the Philippines, shared how dangerous the new challenge can be and how it can pose great danger, especially to the nervous and skeletal system. "There's a possibility that the impact is on the neck. Once you hit your neck or your spinal cord, the connection of the brain to the body, when it breaks, at once it could kill you", explains Manio.

Furthermore, Manio continues to enumerate several permanent disabilities that this new Skull Breaker Challenge could pose to one's health. According to the expert, if the challenger can survive the challenge without dying but still caused an impact on his head to his spine, he might experience several effects such as numbness and paralysis of the body and other spinal cord injuries.

With this tragic incident, which involves another viral challenge, authorities are emphasizing how crucial the parent's part is in controlling the negative effects not just of these viral challenges but also on the social media itself, as reported by the Manila Bulletin. Parents can start by being aware of the things that their child is into especially when it comes to the internet. By being aware of the things that their child is exposed to, the easier it is for them to explain, educate, and protect their children from possible harm in the future.
