Fans celebrated Red Velvet's Wendy's birthday with happy news as the singer posted for the first time in two months on her personal Instagram.

After suffering from a severe accident from falling off the stage during rehearsals of SBS Gayo Daejeon on December 24, the singer has been confined in the hospital to recover from her injuries, Soompi reported.

SM Entertainment has also been vague about the actual date of her return as part of Red Velvet given the extent of her condition. However, fans found new hope when Wendy herself updated them about her recovery. In her post, she thanked red Velvet's Reveluv fandom for all the concern and love even during the time she was not actively promoting with her members. She assured fans that she is getting better but apologized that she had caused them to worry.

"Our ReVeluv, like I said in my Instagram live, I'm not going anywhere and I'm going to be right here. Because I'm going to sing all my life. So I will recover quickly so I can meet you on stage in good health as soon as I can! Till then, spend every day in happiness!" Wendy said on a cheerful note.

Wendy made the post on her birthday last February 21 and made her message available in both Korean and English.

It can be recalled that while preparing for the SBS Gayo Daejeon for her solo number. Wendy fell 2.5 meters off the stage because the platform failed to rise at the right time. As a result, she suffered from facial, pelvis, and wrist injuries which sidelined her from promoting with her members.

SBS received plenty of criticisms for their neglect of the artists, especially after the final show showed some of the artists slipping on stage and on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, SBS issued a statement that they were conducting an internal investigation to get to the bottom of the incident. However, fans were dissatisfied with SBS' actions and asked that the network be held accountable for Wendy's injuries.

Last January, it was reported that the police were investigating SBS for negligence causing grievous bodily harm which could lead to 30 days of jail time or a fine for those found guilty of the offense.

Remaining members Seulgi, Irene, Joy, and Yeri are currently on tour in Japan and Seoul with no postponements and cancellations reported amid the coronavirus outbreak in some parts of Asia. Organizers will, however, be implementing more stringent measures when it comes to hygiene before entering the concert venue, Kpopstarz reported
