Prince Andrew, recently, celebrated his 60th birthday and refused a military promotion due to the scandals he is into. As Trooping the Color is coming near, military sources, reportedly, told Queen Elizabeth II that she must axe her son from this year's event to save the monarchy's reputation.

Senior military officials reportedly told The Times that the disgrace prince should not grace the annual event on June 13. "Prince Andrew's participation in the event would very likely and unfairly damage the reputation of the Queen and the monarchy," a source said.

Prince Andrew is said to have stirred up enough problems for Queen Elizabeth and the monarchy itself. However, despite the request, palace sources are yet to confirm if the Duke of York will cancel his attendance at the flagship event.

Sources close to Prince Andrew, reportedly, said that he is hoping that the public scrutiny will soften with the imminent wedding of his daughter, Princess Beatrice, in May. However, insiders said it was "unrealistic."

According to Express, trooping the Color is an annual ceremony, where regiments of the British and Commonwealth armies perform. It has been celebrated since the 17th century. When the parade returns to Buckingham Palace, royal family members will stand out on the premises' balcony.

There, they will watch the 41-gun salute by the King's Troop in Green Park. Queen Elizabeth and her family will watch on as the RAF performs a flypast.

Meanwhile, if Prince Andrew gets banned from Trooping the Color, he, too, may not attend his mother's official birthday celebration, Tatler noted. He already refused a military promotion, which was usually given to senior royals, on his birthday. Local councils also requested to ban flying the flag for his milestone celebration.

Prince Andrew is known for being proud of his naval career, mainly when he served in the Falklands War. Currently, he is the Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy.

He stepped back from his royal duties until the foreseeable future last year after his BBC interview turned wrong and received a lot of criticisms. Anyhow, this year would be a big one for their family as Princess Beatrice is set to marry her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on May 29.

The ceremony will take place at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace and will be followed by a reception at the Buckingham Palace. Prince Andrew will reportedly walk her daughter down the aisle for this special event.
