Katy Perry and Taylor Swift do not spend a lot of time together after reconciling last year. The American Idol judge admitted that they have been quite busy with work so they are unable to restore their close bond. However, Perry also said that they are now texting a lot to each other.

Perry made this revelation in an interview with Stellar magazine, which is released in Australia. Through their busy schedules, however, the two superstars are trying to keep their friendship after their falling out over six years ago.

The pop superstar also said that she's really excited for Swift's Miss Americana documentary on Netflix. Perry commended her friend on how she was very self-aware in the documentary, which has imparted a special message that not everything has to be perfect in life.

Perry and Swift finally reconciled last year when the former agreed to appear in Swift's new video "You Need to Calm Down." Perry said that it was a difficult choice but it was far more important to have forgiveness in their hearts.

The American Idol judge also said that they both decided to reconcile to become a good example to the fans. As difficult it was to forgive an "enemy," Perry said that forgiveness is so much more powerful and amazing.

Reflecting on the feud, Perry said that it actually started out as a silly misunderstanding. It blew up because of the groups and people that follow both of them, who also turned on each other and took sides.

Perry detailed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she and Swift started the path to reconciliation during the latter's Reputation tour. They've been seeing each other at various events and would exchange greetings or small talks. The singer said that the reason why she struck a friendship with Swift in the first place was that they have plenty of things in common and not a lot of people get her the way Swift does.

Meanwhile, Swift bared in a BBC Radio interview that she and Perry are past the stage of being pitted against each other. They have been on good terms before she asked Perry to become part of the "You Need to Calm Down" video.

However, it took them some time to reveal to fans that they are actually okay. Swift said that they wanted to be sure that their restored relationship is solid before they reveal to people that they are friends again.
