One of the much-awaited releases in the auto industry this year is that of Tesla Model Y. The crossover utility vehicle was officially unveiled by the US electric vehicle maker on Mar. 2019 and entered into production on Jan. 2020. A new leak claims that the Tesla Model Y might begin deliveries earlier than anticipated.

Leaked Tesla Model Y Delivery Schedule

The new information surrounding the delivery of the Tesla Model Y comes from a Reddit user and future Tesla Model Y owner u/HIP2013. Based on the post, the Reddit user claims that they were contacted by a representative from Tesla to schedule the pickup of the Model Y. It is scheduled at 4 PM on Wednesday, Mar. 11 at Rocklin showroom in California.

The Reddit user also revealed that when he first received the email a week ago about the Tesla Model Y delivery, he immediately called back the company with everything that they were asking. The soon to be Model Y owner also shared that he reserved the unit before the official livestream unveiling event of the company on Mar. 2019. He also claimed that he was one of the first 5000 to receive his Model 3.

The Reddit post, however, is now deleted. Teslarati reports that the 'source' that claimed about the Mar. 11 delivery of Tesla Model Y retracted their statement.

Other Tesla Model Y Leak

Another Reddit user shared his recent discovery about the Tesla Model Y. It appears that the Redditor has a tech background and looked at the Tesla Android App source using the APK. As it turns out, the update hides several new pictures of the Tesla Model Y. The images of Tesla Model Y found on the latest app version are 3D renders, which the US electric vehicle maker seemingly brought to the production and delivery stage ahead of the anticipated timeline.

According to the Reddit user "A new Tesla app version released on Android a week or so ago and looks like it just released today on iOS. I took a quick look at the Android APK for this new version 3.10.4-396 and it looks like it contains a bunch of Model Y resources compared to the previous app version 3.10.3-390. No changes to API endpoints so no new features from what I can tell. There are more resources like the doors, charge port, other wheels, etc. which is less interesting than the body and top view. (Wowwww)"

Tesla has not yet revealed the delivery date of the Tesla Model Y. But, it is anticipated to start the delivery of the compact crossover utility vehicle on Mar. 15, 2020.
