The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in China announced the strengthening of its support to major industries in the country. The announcement claimed that preferential policies would be made to remedy the labor shortage in China.

Preferential policies were released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security that favors significant companies. The systems were focused on the production of medical materials, agriculture products, daily necessities, and other related commodities to be distributed throughout the country.

According to the director of the employment promotion department of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in China Zhang Ying, the public health crisis in the country has resulted in labor shortage due to restrictive policies. She revealed that the said policies had disrupted population flow in the country.

Last February 15, the Chinese government established a mechanism where subsidies would be supplied to enterprises and work agencies to promote employment in the country. Zhang added that apart from guiding migrant workers to resume their work posts in good order, the government would also support the recruitment of workers in those companies.

She added that China wishes to continue efforts that would mobilize workers between different companies to alleviate the labor shortage in the country.

Apart from labor policies, the Chinese government has also announced the resumption of work and production. The changes included the offering of chartered transportation services to prevent the spread of the public health crisis during return trips.

The ministry also created free online courses that would allow professionals to accomplish their job requirements and credentials. The program focused on work that has been labeled in urgent demand. The government also continues to give allowances and subsidies to companies and human resource agencies for them to recruit more workers. The same measures were also taken to alleviate the labor shortage in the country.

Since Friday, Zhang revealed that the ministry has already adjusted its policies. It has been responsive to the needs of the economy. She also claimed that the supporting systems applied to different regions in China and that the implementation of such would be prioritized as soon as possible.

At present, there are 298,000 people employed in 8,443 enterprises across China. According to The Verge, tech giant Apple has announced that it has opted for remote work for its workers in China. The said mandate mirrored the Chinese government's goal to promote the continuance of employment in regions of the country without exposing the workers to more significant health risks.
