There is little doubt that people are currently worried about the growing spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. People all over the world are understandably panicking over the situation in fear that the disease could reach their homes. On the other hand, some celebrities are truly finding ways to prevent a global pandemic. For instance, Hoshi of SEVENTEEN has secretly donated a huge amount to a non-profit organization that is helping medical staff and volunteers in the fight against COVID-19.
The news came from Daum which reveals that Hoshi donated 50 million won to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, a purely private relief organization founded by broadcasters, newspapers, and social groups across South Korea. The member of SEVENTEEN made the donation without the knowledge of his company Pledis Entertainment.
According to the report, Hoshi's donation will be used to buy quarantine supplies for the underprivileged who are affected by COVID-19. It will also provide assistance to the medical staff and volunteers working for the course. Moreover, Hope Bridge delivers the help to the National Disaster Relief Association of Korea through Naver Happy Bean.
It's understandable why Hoshi and other celebrities are now taking action against COVID-19. There have been several reports of patients being affected by the disease in South Korea. Needless to say, their efforts are greatly appreciated by the underprivileged.
Interestingly, the South Asian and European legs of SEVENTEEN's Ode To You world tour has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. The boy group were still able to perform in Manila, Philippines in early February before they were brought back home to South Korea. It was later announced that the concerts scheduled for Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Madrid, Paris, London, and Berlin would be cancelled due to the outbreak.
It is still unclear when SEVENTEEN will visit the cities where their Ode To You concerts were supposed to take place. However, the idols are already expected to perform in Japan in May. S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino are set for the SEVENTEEN 2020 Japan Dome Tour in four Japanese cities between May 9 to May 28. The boy group will play two dates each in Saitama, Tokyo, Fukuoka and Osaka.
For now, the SEVENTEEN 2020 Japan Dome Tour is still confirmed and is expected to push through despite the COVID-19 outbreak. It is also expected to be S.Coups' first major appearance since he announced his return from hiatus. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
