In Stumptown episode 18, Dex becomes the prime suspect of a murder case, so she will do everything she can to clear her name and get justice. Likely, Dex isn't guilty of anything and someone just framed her to be the suspect of the case. Although she may not go to jail, she's still in a difficult position within this episode and she'll try to save herself.

In addition, she may not have a lot of opportunities to clear her own name, so she needs some help from others. Perhaps, Hoffman could likely get her out of the situation, but based on the synopsis of Stumptown episode 18, he may lose everything he has if he continues helping Dex.
As for what else is coming, Grey will try to work on his budding relationship with his estranged father. Also, a familiar face from the past will make a surprise visit.
