Jennifer Lawrence’s engagement with Cooke Maroney was never “in crisis” despite previous claims that the actress was “on the verge of tears” following a dinner date with her fiancé at The Bowery Hotel in New York City last year. It is now confirmed that the story was completely false as the pair’s relationship is still going strong. In fact, they are not only doing fine, they got married in October.

NW published an article claiming that Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney were not an image of a happy couple during their outing. But one year later after the article was shared, the claims are proven to be nothing but a made-up story.

“They’re not even married yet, and people are convinced that this could be a sign that it’s all over,” the NW source said last year. “Jen has totally uprooted her life for Cooke and now spends almost all of her time in New York, [since] that’s where his gallery is.” The supposed tipster then added that the actress has “done a lot of compromising in this relationship” that resulted in a lot of tension between her and her fiancé.

Gossip Cop quickly slammed the report, saying that the story is absolutely false. The site pointed out that the claims regarding Jennifer Lawrence spending almost all of her time in New York because of Cooke Maroney’s gallery were absurd since the actress was already living in the city before she met him.

Daily Mail also published photos during the date night that NW was talking about and Jennifer Lawrence was certainly not “on the verge of tears” as claimed. In fact, the publication even captioned one of the photos: “Jennifer Lawrence enjoyed another date night out with her husband-to-be in New York City.”

Since NW didn’t provide any photos to back up their claims, the snaps that Daily Mail shared can confirm that there was no crisis in Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney’s engagement at all.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence previously revealed on the NAKED with Catt Sadler podcast in June 2019 that she wanted to marry Cooke Maroney when she met him. This was something that the actress never felt with anyone else before.

"I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married.' I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him,” she said. "He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet and, you’re like, 'You can’t leave!' So I wanted to take that offer."
