A royal staff who comes in contact with Queen Elizabeth regularly has been tested positive for COVID-19. Reports revealed that a royal footman has been infected with the coronavirus as the Queen was still in Buckingham Palace.

According to The Sun, royal staff members at the palace are reportedly terrified for the health and safety of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The monarch is 93 years old while the Duke of Edinburgh is 98, thus they are both vulnerable to the deadly bug.

Since March 19, Queen Elizabeth has been staying in Windsor Castle with her husband. There are, apparently, only eight people who are looking after the aging royals, as opposed to the usual hundred servants. Buckingham Palace released a statement on Friday to say that the Queen remains in good health despite the health threats around her.

The footman has been in self-isolation since his results. His main duties for the Queen are to bring her meals and drinks, to hand her messages and to walk her beloved Corgis.

The royal staff is the third person close to the Queen who has tested positive for COVID-19. Prince Charles and Prime Minister Boris Johnson also announced last week they have the coronavirus and have been self-isolating.

Doctors, however, cannot determine where Prince Charles and Johnson acquired the virus since they have been busy with various public engagements in the weeks prior to the government's directive to limit movements. The news comes, however, as Prince Charles was criticized for allegedly jumping the queue so he could get tested. Junior Health Minister Edward Anger defended the heir to the throne and said that Prince Charles was able to get the test because he met the criteria.

At 71 years old, Prince Charles is also vulnerable to COVID-19. Since he exhibited mild symptoms and has a medical history, the doctors deemed it necessary to give him the test, alongside his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace has yet to confirm if Queen Elizabeth was tested for coronavirus infection. Doctors, however, are on standby for the aging royals and the staff at Windsor Castle are taking precautions and following the health directives from the government.

Reports stated that there are only a handful of people working at Windsor while Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are in isolation. Meanwhile, Prince Charles, who is self-isolating in Birkhall in Scotland, has at least two people looking after him while Camilla, is also in self-isolation.
