BTS V or Kim Taehyung may have agreed to participate in the Itaewon Class OST to support his good friend Park Seo Joon but his Sweet Night track is taking the world by storm.
According to a report by All Kpop, BTS V's song Sweet Night is making waves in the biggest music charts in the USA, Japan, UK, Germany, and France.
In the US, Sweet Night became the first Korean song and V the first solo act in the history of the US iTunes to spend 112 consecutive hours at No. 1. Kim Taehyung even surpassed the performance of BTS' recent collaboration with Sia, ON, which spent 107 consecutive hours on the chart.
Sweet Night also debuted at No. 2 of the Digital Sales Chart with 11,000 records sold. As a solo act, V also debuted at No. 9 of Billboard's Emerging Artists list.
BTS' V has always been popular in Japan, constantly topping Twipple trends, but his strong marketability was further proven when he debuted at No. 2 of the Japan iTunes chart and landed on the No. 5 of Japan's Oricon chart.
He also rounded up the 10th spot in the Billboard Japan Download song chart. In the UK, V also made a significant milestone when he became only the second Korean solo act to debut on the Top 10 of the UK Billboard Digital Sales Chart.
The first Korean artist to do this was PSY during the Gangnam Style era. Kim Taehyung also topped the UK iTunes chart for Sweet Night.
The influence of BTS' V reached as far as Germany when he debuted on the country's iTunes chart on the No. 8 spot. In neighboring France, Sweet Night also entered the France official digital song sales chart at No. 9.It can be recalled that BTS V's participation in the Itaewon Class OST was very special because he wrote, produced and recorded the song inspired by the name of the bar that Park Seo Joon's character Park Saeroyi operated in the drama.
V and Park Seo Joon have remained close to each other from the time they worked on the saeguk drama Hwarang along with Park Hyung Sik. They are also close with Parasite actor Choi Woo Shik and rapper Peakboy and are popularly known as the Wooga Squad.
V also became a trending topic on Twitter lately after he visited Park Seo Joon during the last filming day of Itaewon Class because of his perfect visuals.
