Park Bo Gum recently made fans wonder whether he was ready to enlist in the military after appearing in a cameo for Park Seo Joon's Itaewon Class, sporting a short haircut. While the star has yet to comment on his plans, it is rumored that he may report for mandatory enlistment this summer.
According to a report by Sporbiz, Park Bo Gum is scheduled to report for military enlistment this summer after completing the filming of his latest movie.
Park Bo Gum is an '83 liner which means he will turn 28 on June 16, this year. Korean men are given until they are 28 years old to enlist for the military, based on the rules set by the Military Manpower Administration.
Park Bo Gum's agency, Blossom Entertainment has refused to confirm the report and remained mum on plans for the actor's enlistment. They also did not announce whether the star has received his enlistment date from the MMA yet.
In an earlier interview, Park Bo Gum said he is willing to fulfill his duty to the country at the appropriate time.
"I am planning on going to the military when the time comes. I think I should go there before it's too late. If I have the chance, I think I want to leave my face in a lot of works before then," he said.
Park Bo Gum has been recently been confirmed to star in a film project alongside Train to Busan and Goblin superstar Gong Yoo, Vagabond's Suzy Bae, Parasite's Choi Woo Shik and more.

Apart from Wonderland, Park Bo Gum has also signed on to star in a drama entitled Record of Youth where he will star alongside another Parasite actor, Park So Dam.
Record of Youth will be a tale of young people's struggles as they navigate through the challenges of the modeling world. Park So Dam will play the role of a makeup artist who hides her sorrow behind fangirling while Park Bo Gum will play the role of a model who struggles to transition into acting, reported All Kpop.
They will be joined by actor Byun Woo Seok who will play the role of another model who comes from a wealthy background but struggles to find success in the entertainment field.
