Park Bo Gum surprised fans with a guest appearance in the last episode of Park Seo Joon's hit series Itaewon Class but his short buzz cut had fans wondering whether he was preparing to enter the military soon.

According to a report by All Kpop, Park Bo Gum made a mark in his special role and became one of the most searched topics online following his appearance.

Despite looking dapper with his clean-cut, fans became worried that he was already preparing to enlist. It can be recalled that Park Bo Gum expressed openness to report for mandatory enlistment whenever he is called."I'm going to enlist in the military when the time comes. I think I should go when it's not too late," he said in an interview last year. Park Bo Gum turns 27 in June.

Fans should not worry too much about his immediate enlistment because he will be working with Parasite actress Park So Dam and Byun Woo Seok in a new tvN drama entitled Record of Youth, right after his guest role on Itaewon Class.

According to sources close to production, the three actors have already confirmed their participation in the drama as early as January of this year.

Record of Youth will be a story that chronicles the struggles of young people who are trying to get ahead in their careers. Based on the synopsis, Park Bo Gum will play the role of Sa Hye Joon, a model turned actor who faces numerous failures and challenges as he transitions to acting. The series will depict his rejections that will lead him to lose his confidence.

Park So Dam will play the role of Ahn Jung Ha, a make up artist who pretends to be carefree on the outside by fangirling over idols to hide her inner loneliness.

Actor Byun Woo Seok, who took on roles in dramas like Live Up to Your Name, Search WWW, and Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, will play the role of model and actor Won Hae Hyo. Unlike Park Bo Gum's character, Hae Hyo comes from a wealthy family, making his journey to success easier. However, despite his advantages, he also fails to make an impact in the industry.

Record of Youth is developed by the team of writer Ha Myung Hee (Temperature of Love, Doctors), and director Ahn Gil Ho (Memories of Alhambra, Forest of Secrets). The series, also known by the alternate title The Moment, is expected to air starting this May.
