Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the social distancing guidelines in the United States will extend until April 30. It was said that the tone of his address that day was different from the previous ones he had as it was "somber."

As stated, the extension of the lockdown is due to the models presented by officials and experts about the apparent crisis in the country. It was revealed that despite the strict observance of the guidelines given by experts to prevent the further spreading of the virus among Americans, the death toll may reach up to 240,000.

According to CNN News, everything that Donald Trump stated on his address earlier this week is all true. However, it was not something new to the public as "it has been already known for weeks." Unfortunately, for the American people, it was the President of the United States who openly "failed to acknowledge" it all, as per claims.

The report continued to share that almost a month ago, the US President publicly shared his thoughts about the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Based on his social media post, it was said that he took the virus as nothing more than the "common flu."

It was noted that experts in the field had been also informing everyone, including Donald Trump that the virus is much worse than flu. As shared, the mortality rates are much higher and more importantly, there is no known vaccine yet to the virus.

However, the President did not seemingly believe in these claims. Instead, he, reportedly, "downplayed" the severity of the situation, which likely "fueled" the further spread of the virus in the United States.

While it was emphasized by the reports that Donald Trump should not be blamed for the virus itself, it was highlighted how his actions in the past few weeks have played a huge role in the worsening condition of the pandemic in the country. Politico also released a similar analysis and concluded how the US President's actions to respond to the crisis have become great factors for the further degradation of the crisis.

But, given how he addressed the current condition of the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it was said that he seemingly realized already the actual horrors and risks of the virus. Yet, the reports pointed out that despite his realizations, he "should not get credit" for "finally" conceding and acknowledging these things that have been repeatedly explained to him since late January.
