Nearly two weeks have passed since Queen Elizabeth II left Buckingham Palace to self-isolate in Windsor Castle. Amid the lockdown in the United Kingdom, the monarch is joined by her husband, Prince Philip, who is also, reportedly, self-isolating due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aside from the Queen and her husband, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are also observing the social distancing guidelines in the United Kingdom, which became much needed for the royal couple as the Heir Apparent has tested positive for the virus.

While this leaves Prince William and Kate Middleton at the front and center of the British Monarchy as they have remained active amid the crisis, reports revealed that Queen Elizabeth II still follows her "business as usual" schedule in Berkshire. As stated, the Monarch continues to carry on with her duties and responsibilities despite having to stay in for her security and safety.

According to Express UK, the Court Circular, a journal that details the duties carried out by the members of the Royal Family, shows that the Queen has been also active in this time of crisis. It was said that on March 31, Queen Elizabeth II "appointed" her cousin, Lady Elizabeth Shakerley to assume the role of Commander for the Royal Victorian Order.

Although the Court Circular typically includes all the important details of every official duty and engagement taken by the royals, it was noted that the appointment of her cousin was not recorded in full details. It was not also disclosed how the meeting went.

Whether it was a face-to-face or a phone call transaction, this was not shared. Nevertheless, the report stated that Lady Elizabeth Shakerley already received the Insignia from the Queen.

The publication continued to share that it was Queen Victoria who established the Royal Victorian Order in 1896. It was also described as a "dynastic order" of knighthood.

Individuals who are given the title of the said order were, reportedly, honored and thanked for their excellent services to the Crown, Queen Elizabeth II, and senior members of the British Royal Family. Lady Elizabeth Shakerley was then revealed to have shared a very close working and personal relationship with the Queen.

Meanwhile, other reports also revealed that the monarch has remained in "good health" amid her stay in Windsor Castle. This was said to oppose the rumors that circulated recently alleging that the Queen has tested positive for COVID-19.
