After the shocking "somber tone" Donald Trump provided in his most recent address about the COVID-19 crisis in the United States, the public is, reportedly, certain that the US President has "finally" realized the actual threats and severity of the virus in the country. However, several experts stated that he should not be credited for it since his actions, reportedly, played a huge role in the further regression of the country's condition amid the pandemic.

It was said that the POTUS declared an extension for the strict compliance of the social distancing guidelines given to the country. After aiming to re-open the United States by Easter, the lockdown will now be observed until the end of April.

This, reportedly, comes after experts and officials predicted that the country's death toll will reach 240,000 despite the observance and compliance of the social distancing guidelines. While the number is very significant given that the country has already surpassed Italy's and China's figures, Donald Trump said that it is better than the previously forecasted number of 2.2 million.

According to Business Insider, analysts, experts, and the majority of the public are certain that the severity of the pandemic in the United States might have been contained and controlled if only Donald Trump played his cards right. However, he was said to have "downplayed" the crisis allowing for the further spread of the virus in the country.

After laying out these claims before the public, it was reported that the Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence denied these allegations and contended that Trump "never belittled" the actual threat of the coronavirus in the United States. He then explained that he believes that the President has repeatedly "expressed confidence" that the country "will meet this moment."

Amid the reported "denial" and "defense" made by the politician, CNN's Wolf Blitzer, reportedly, "pushed back" and cited clear examples as to how Donald Trump actually did it since January. Intelligencer also shared a brief timeline as to how the President responded to the crisis.

Despite all the references made proving that the US President truly "downplayed" the severity of the pandemic, VP Mike Pense responded and explained that the President is an "optimistic person."

As it happened, Trump admitted that he was just giving the American people the "hope" that they all needed because he finds himself as a "cheerleader." He also said that he "knew everything" but, he does not want to be a negative person.

Today, 245,373 Americans have tested positive for COVID-19 with a total of 6,095 deaths.
