BLINKs are demanding answers from YG Entertainment as they trended the hashtag #BLACKPINK1YearOfHiatus worldwide. Fans want to know what YG plans to do with Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose since it has been an entire year since the release of Kill This Love without a single comeback.

According to a report by Koreaboo, BLINKs took to social media to lament YG Entertainment's poor handling of BLACKPINK's promotions compared to other girl groups from other agencies. It can be recalled that JYP Entertainment's TWICE staged two comebacks last year with Fancy You in April and Feel Special in September.

SM Entertainment's Red Velvet also staged a trilogy of comebacks last year with The Reve Festival. All three comebacks were met with positive reactions from fans.

However, after releasing the megahit Kill This Love in April 2019, YG Entertainment focused on BLACKPINK's Your Area World Tour and held back from releasing new materials from Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose.

Apart from Jennie's solo debut for Solo in 2018, the other members' promised solo debut were also delayed by the agency for unknown reasons. Last year, Rose said she is hard at work on her solo album but the agency has yet to set a date for its release.

BLINKs also complained about YG's preferential treatment after it released iKON's recent comebacks i DECIDE, and WINNER's  new album Remember.

Because of sheer frustration, it can be recalled that BLINKs rented an LED and stationed it in front of YG Entertainment last year, listing own their demands to stage at least two comebacks a year for BLACKPINK. YG Entertainment responded positively but has yet to fulfill its promise to fans.

Early in the year, YG confirmed that BLACKPINK will be releasing a new album during the first quarter. The comeback was supposed to happen in March but because of the Coronavirus, plans have once again been delayed.

Fans lament that even while other idols release comebacks without public promotions, YG is delaying BLACKPINK's much-anticipated comeback even further, adding to the grief of fans and the members alike.

Recent magazine interviews for Jennie and Jisoo may have been indicative of their own frustrations against delays.

"Comeback with a new album. That's it," Jennie said when she was asked by the interviewer about her hopes for 2020.

"Our fans have been waiting for us for such a long time, so my dream is to be able to see our fans much, much more often," BLACKPINK's Jisoo said in a separate interview.
