The BTS boys had been together for almost a decade. But just like other K-pop group members, V decided to expand his brand outside the music industry.
In 2016, V became a part of the South Korean television series Hwarang. While spending a lot of time with the cast during filming, the 24-year-old singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor struck a friendship with his fellow actors.
And because of this, Jimin shared in an earlier interview that he felt sad that V was more expressive towards his Hwarang friends than his BTS members. Jimin and V are not only born in the same year, but they are called soulmates because they were friends even before they became trainees of Big Hit Entertainment. So it makes a lot of sense why he felt upset that he didn’t have his good pal’s attention.
“I said I was sad because I was really sad. I even told my other friends about this because I was just that sad…” Jimin said. V then noted that “The hyungs from Hwarang are really great at expressing themselves. They always tell me, ‘Taehyung I really love you’ and I picked up on that and started saying ‘I love you’ at the end of all my sentences too.”
Jimin then went on to share that V doesn’t say “I love you” to him, but that wasn’t the reason why he was sad. He explained that what made him unhappy was that V was able to say it to his Hwarang hyungs and not his BTS members.
“I’m not sad because I wasn’t able to hear the words ‘I love you’ Taehyung had a really hard time during the filming of the drama so the members, we all tried our best to make him comfortable,” he said. “I know we are family and that we shouldn’t need to be rewarded for supporting him, but I think we were just a bit sad that he expressed a lot more to the Hwarang hyungs. It’s things like this where you get really sad even though it’s not really a big deal.”
V explained that he sees BTS as his family, which is why it was awkward for him to be as expressive to them. He then added that he finds Jimin’s revelation to be cute.
“I think it’s a bit awkward to tell my members I love them because we are more like family. Since BTS is like family to me, it’s always harder to express your love to family members,” V shared. “But I think Jimin talking like this is so cute.”
