Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, released a new photo of themselves to mark their 15th wedding anniversary. But aside from the Cornwalls, they were joined by their rescued dogs, Bluebell and Beth. Although some might find the photograph cute, their setting seemed to be unusual if not weird.
"Ahead of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall's 15th wedding anniversary tomorrow, we are sharing this photo of Their Royal Highnesses with The Duchess's dogs Bluebell and Beth," Clarence House captioned the snap shared on the royal couple's official Instagram account. By the looks of it, the Duke of Cornwall looked happy to hold one of the dogs, but he seemed to be refusing being associated with either of the two canines, Town & Country noted. It might be the reason why he had a Band-Aid on his finger.
The photo's setting also looked odd. The chairs seemed to be separated from their legs, looking like a bench instead. They also had an old-fashioned boot scraper near the stairs, which might be more appropriate if it was near the door.
Hence, Prince Charles and Camilla might have thought that their entryway was indoors. Why? They have a window at their back. Their pillar also looked like a decorative gray tree, which seemed to be made of plastic. But, as the Prince of Wales is known as a pro-environment, it might not be.
Prince Charles and Camilla's dogs are both rescued. Beth was adopted from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London in 2011. After a year, they got Bluebell from the same place.
The royal pooches made an appearance with Camilla at the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Old Windsor in 2017, when she became the charity's patron, taking over the role from Queen Elizabeth II. They also joined her and her husband at the Dumfries House Dog Show in Cumnock, Scotland, in 2015 and 2017, Hello! Magazine noted.
Prince Charles and Camilla are not the only ones in the royal family who owned rescued dogs. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also have their own with the Duchess of Sussex's rescued beagle, named Guy, which she brought when she moved to the U.K. from Toronto. Sadly, her other dog, Bogart, couldn't make the transatlantic journey due to old age. Hence, then just adopted a new pup after they got married.
Prince William and Kate Middleton also have a dog at home, named Lupo, an English Cocker Spaniel. They had the royal pooch even before they had their first child, Prince George. Lupo often made an appearance on their family photos.
