Kate Middleton is not a big fan of homeschooling. The Duchess of Cambridge apparently does not subscribe to the idea of learning from home despite many royals traditionally getting their education through tutoring and private lessons.
However, Kate had to adjust to homeschooling because of the pandemic. Prince George and Princess Charlotte's school, St Thomas's Battersea, had to close in the middle of March to prevent the spread of the virus. The school will likely be closed for the rest of the school year since U.K. still has not gotten the coronavirus infection under control.
A source told Us Weekly that the Duchess of Cambridge does not have any choice but to set up a system for homeschooling so that Prince George and Princess Charlotte can continue with their lessons. This means allowing her children to use gadgets like iPads and computers for their class.
Apparently, Kate doesn't usually let her kids use devices and she also limits their time on television. However, since the pandemic changed all the normalcy of life, the duchess is still making sure that that her kids follow a routine even if she has to introduce some changes.
The source said that Kate is taking charge of the children's lessons and playtimes. Prince William is also involved but it's mostly the Duchess of Cambridge who does the teaching and game organizing.
Kate has likely made outdoor play a vital part of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and even Prince Louis's activities during this lockdown. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge believes that children should be given plenty of time to be around nature, including farm animals. They want their kids to experience the country life in Norfolk since they stay in the city of London most of the time.
Meanwhile, Kate revealed that despite ensuring that the kids do not spend their time on the screen so much, Prince George has been given the chance to binge-watch one TV show. The third in line to the throne is, reportedly, enjoying the nature series Blue Planet from Sir David Attenborough, a British icon.
Kate said that Attenborough is likely her most favorite person to have ever met. Prince William has met the man several times before since Attenborough, who is the same age as Queen Elizabeth, is also a family friend.
Prince Charles is also a big admirer of the environmentalist. Prince William hails Attenborough as a national treasure.
