Prince William and Kate Middleton are reaching out to people via Zoom, the video conferencing platform. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently engaged in a video chat with some teachers and students whose parents are in the frontlines.
Curious royal fans, however, were thrilled to learn that Prince William and Kate share the Zoom username "DOC." The short and generic online alias is likely for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, per Town & Country.
Prince William and Kate's chat with the kids of care workers also revealed some very interesting facet about the Cambridge family. They answered some of the kids' silly questions and they also talked about the upcoming Easter. At one point, Kate ribbed her husband to tell him that he usually hogs the stocks of Easter chocolates for their children.
The Cambridge family are currently staying in Norfolk while observing isolation and social distancing due to the coronavirus. Prince William and Kate left London in the middle of March, as with the rest of the royal family who are in different parts of the U.K. and also observing the quarantine. They will be celebrating the second birthday of Prince Louis this April while in isolation.
Prince William and Kate have been homeschooling Prince George and Princess Charlotte since their school has been closed for nearly a month. As they cannot do any royal events, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been keeping tabs of their charities and other support services via phone or through the digital platform.
Last week, Prince William and Kate took time to call some frontliners at a hospital. They also condoled with the nurses and doctors after learning that one of their colleagues died because of COVID-19.
Prince William and Kate thanked the medical workers for their hard work. Prince William also extend the gratitude of Queen Elizabeth for their outstanding service to the people.
After their talk with the frontliners, Prince William apparently asked his patronages to ensure that the frontliners are given the much-needed support, including their mental health. The Duke of Cambridge has asked his staff to anticipate other needs that may come up for these nurses and doctors as they risk their lives while saving others.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as their kids, are likely going to stay in Norfolk until the rest of the month. The U.K. government has yet to ease up on their safety guidelines as coronavirus cases continue to increase.
