Suga is certainly not the most talkative out of all the BTS members. But even though ARMYs dubbed him as the “grandpa” of the group, that doesn’t mean that the BTS rapper is not capable of being funny.
In fact, Suga is just as funny as the rest of the BTS boys and fans know that he’s a comedy king. However, his sense of humor is different than RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, so it goes unappreciated most of the time.
And although Suga is not a man of many words, he would give credit where credit is due. So if one of the members did something amazing, he is not one to shy away from praising them. However, his recent compliment sounded more like sarcasm.
On April 14, BangtanTV uploaded its recent BTS Bomb episode. The video is a behind the scenes dance practice for the “Dionysus” segment of BTS’s iconic performance at the 2019 Melon Music Awards.
There were a lot of stunts during “Dionysus,” so the boys and their backup dancers, with the presence of dance director Son Sung Deuk, tried to perfect each and every move by doing it multiple times.
On the set, V did a backroll on the table. (Watch the clip here). The BTS star did it successfully twice that the members and Son Sung Deuk cheered him on.
In fact, even the “emotionless” Suga was moved by V’s impressive backroll. The 27-year-old rapper, songwriter, and record producer covered his mouth in shock while saying “Oooooooooh!” (Watch the clip here).
Suga was so impressed that he complimented V. But his praise sounded more like a savage compliment than the regular one. “That was the coolest you’ve ever been,” he said. (Watch the clip here).
While V’s reaction was not captured on camera, RM, who was standing beside Suga, laughed at his “compliment.” It seems like the BTS leader knew Suga too well that he caught the sarcasm. (Watch the clip here).
Meanwhile, Suga’s humor is definitely different from BTS’ official funny guy J-Hope. And that’s not the only thing that they are not in common. Basing on the boys’ facial features, they can not be called identical at all.
If Suga will be mistaken with another member, it was usually Jimin. Both BTS boys have similar height and fashion sense at times. The rapper was never mistaken with anyone else — until a shocking video of him morphing into J-Hope appeared. (Watch the clip here and the focused version here).
