Kate Middleton might seem like the perfect hands-on mom but she recently admitted that she told her children a lie about their school. She said that she's actually feeling guilty because of this lie.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte are currently homeschooling as schools in the U.K. have been closed because of coronavirus. Kate has been taking the lead in making sure that the kids are up to date on their lessons.
Because she's in charge, Kate said that she wanted to give the children some structure as they homeschool during the lockdown by establishing routines. This way, they avoid the ups and downs of getting the children to do school work, as she revealed in an interview with BBC.
However, the children were supposed to be on a two-week school break for Easter. Kate, however, admitted that she didn't tell the kids about this school break so they have been keeping with their school routines at home.
"We don't tell the children we've actually kept going through the holidays. I feel very mean," the duchess confessed on live television.
Kate said that George, Charlotte, and Louis -- who is not yet of school age -- have got such stamina. She and Prince William are challenged by all three because they are very active kids.
The family also tries to keep in touch with their other relatives during this lockdown. They call each other and have video calls, which Kate said is also quite chaotic because there's a two-year-old who likes to touch everything.
Meanwhile, reports have it that Kate is pretty strict when it comes to her children's screen time. Though they need to do their school work online, the Duchess of Cambridge makes sure that they don't spend too long on the computer or iPad.
She would rather that George, Charlotte and Louis spend their time exploring outdoors. The Cambridges are currently staying at their country home in Norfolk where there is a garden, a pond and a swing set in the backyard.
However, she did confess that she lets Prince George, the third in line to the throne, binge-watch a certain show. The young royal apparently likes to watch the nature documentary Blue Planet.
While the kids are homeschooling and playing, Kate and Prince William are meeting with their charities and other organizations via video conferencing. The family is observing the lockdown but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are still able to work and extend help to those who need it during this crisis.
