Fear, suffering, pain, sickness, and death: all these are what the world is experiencing at present. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, the world is never the same anymore. But amid all these, some people are still shaking off the truth about the virus' dangers and risks.

Fiona Lowenstein, a 26-year-old writer, yoga teacher, and producer in New York City, used to be one of them. From a state that currently has the highest number of cases in the United States, she used to be one of those people who are guilty of taking this pandemic lightly, which is a normal but dangerous thing for most people her age.

In her video shared by BuzzFeed, Lowenstein stated several reasons why she initially thought her body can be invulnerable to the virus. According to her, she used to see herself as a "picture of health" for she has no autoimmune disorder, pre-existing health condition, no problem in her respiratory system, and even working out six times a week.

Everything she believed in changed when she started to experience symptoms of the coronavirus on March 13, Friday. It happened around 8 or 9 pm when she began to have a headache and felt a little feverish. The next day, morning, she had a cough. On Sunday, however, she felt better as her fever went down. But then, in the middle of the night, while she was resting, she felt worse accompanied by vomiting, chills, and shortness of breath.

Hesitant to get treated at the hospital at first, Lowenstein was pushed by her physician to get checked as her symptoms are getting worse. In the hospital, she witnessed how stressed the medical practitioners were and how they were not provided with the right protective gear they need. She also noticed how more on more people of her age are getting treated there.

Meanwhile, Lowenstein is still on her road to complete recovery but already doing pretty well isolated in her home. After suffering so much she was then inspired to share her experience so other people can have a glimpse of how serious the coronavirus pandemic is. "The myth of invulnerability is just that, it is a myth. We absolutely can contract this virus, and we absolutely can become symptomatic, and we can become hospitalized," shared Lowenstein in her Instagram account.

Using her social media platform, she is informing the world, especially the people of her age to create a positive impact on the world by taking this seriously and doing the right thing to protect themselves and other people. She is also looking forward to helping those who are suffering from the illness by providing them emotional support as she understands the situation and the road to recovery is indeed very hard.
