With Kpop celebrities dealing with malicious commenters on a regular basis and suffering from mental health issues in the process, Kim Heechul cited that IU is the best example of how to shut up internet trolls.

In an episode of his show 7.7 Billion in Love, Kim Heechul said that celebrities deal with a lot of hate online with a lot of people attributing it as part of the job.

Suicide and depression among celebrities have become quite common after singers and actors succumb to incessant criticism and malicious news about them, Soompi reported.

While for regular folk, the matter could be settled by simply seeking help from a medical professional, Heechul revealed that it is far more difficult for a celebrity.

He said that even if celebrities try to reach out and get treatment, they would be targeted once again if people find out that they tried to meet with a mental health professional. This leads to even more criticism.

The Super Junior member, who has been in the industry for more than 15 years, said that his label SM Entertainment has a system in place where celebrities can get counseling about malicious comments and other things but sometimes, the best intentions go down the drain because trolls keep attacking, and it messes with the celebrities' fragile psyche during their most vulnerable times.

"Other celebrities and myself think it's great, but the biggest problem with malicious comments is that even if everyone including your agency, certain businesses, a clinic, a competent doctor, and good friends are all helping you, a single post makes all of that disappear," he said.

He said that of all his celebrity friends, he believes that IU's zero-tolerance stance on online bullying is the best method to deal with internet trolls.

This is why he immediately called her to seek permission to discuss her strategies in dealing with malicious commenters.IU easily agreed and encouraged Heechul to talk to his heart's content about her no leniency approach to slanderous netizens.

"I think you have to respond as IU does. With no leniency. I've thought of IU as someone who overcame some ridiculous rumors and is a very wise person, and she said that she's filed criminal complaints against all of them," he said.

IU's strategy has been so successful so far that she even recently won a case filed against malicious commenters, through the joint efforts of her management and her fans."In the future, we will continue to pursue all criminal and civil actions available, including criminal charges, civil suits, and damage suits," EDAM Entertainment assured
