Princess Diaries 3 is believed to be soon in the works, but one of the original casts, Julie Andrews, is quite skeptical if she can still make the movie. At 84 years old, the legendary actress doubts if she can still reprise her role as Queen Clarisse Renaldi, believing she's already "old and crotchety."

Julie Andrews is not sure if she can still play the role of the former Queen of Genovia in The Princess Diaries 3--16 years after the last installment. However, for her love of Anne Hathaway, she will gladly do so.

Although the iconic The Sound of Music star doesn't believe it's the right timing to do the movie again, she doesn't mind to be Mia Thermopolis' grandmother, not to mention royalty coach, once again. In an episode of CBS's The Talk@Home, she said that the movie's third installment has long been talked about, but nothing seemed to fruition yet.

"I think I would. I'm getting awfully old and crotchety," Julie Andrews said about doing The Princess Diaries 3, via Hollywood Life. "I'm not sure if it's the right timing, but I think working with Annie [Hathaway] would be lovely again."

However, the English actress advised fans to wait if the movie's script would indeed come in. It has been a while since fans started to wait for the third film's production after Anne Hathaway revealed that the movie's script was already completed in an interview on Watch What Happens Life with Andy Cohen in January, People noted.

The 37-year-old star even said that both Julie Andrews and Debra Martin Chase were down to do it, but they didn't want to jump the boat yet until it's already perfected. Anyhow, when Andrews appeared in the same show after a few months, she said that she hadn't heard anything about the making of The Princess Diaries 3 yet. She was even surprised that a script already existed.

At the time, Anne Hathaway was about to give birth to her second child, so Julie Andrews knew she was busy. She had a full schedule as well, but if the movie pushed through, it would be a lovely thing for her. But if it didn't, she wouldn't have known about it.

Meanwhile, in the premiere of the movie The Hustle last year, Anne Hathaway revealed that The Princess Diaries 3 is in "Disney's hands." If this succeeds, it may follow the story of the original movie, The Princess Diaries, from 2001 and its sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, from 2004.
