Kim Tae Hee recently made her successful comeback via Korean drama Hi Bye Mama which was met with positive reviews and strong ratings. However, her husband Rain did not watch the drama.

In an interview with Soompi, Kim Tae Hee shared her thoughts about her role and the drama and revealed that her husband did not watch the drama at all.

However, Rain, who shares two beautiful daughters with Kim Tae Hee in real life, should not be criticized for being unsupportive to his wife's project. It turned out that he just thought that the drama was too effective.

"My husband just said that he couldn't watch it because it was so sad," Kim Tae Hee said.

According to the actress, who played a ghost who was granted permission to "visit" her husband and young daughter for 49 days, after her death five years ago, she used her own experiences with family and motherhood as inspiration for her portrayal.

"I also wanted to naturally portray Yu Ri's bright, simple, and positive personality. At the beginning, I met up with the director, writer, and my co-stars as often as possible to perfect Yu Ri's tone. I acted in accordance with Yu Ri's emotions and I followed that flow to naturally become like Yu Ri. The script was written in a manner where I could act while genuinely feeling the emotions," she said.

Kim Tae Hee also praised her young co-star Seo Woo Jin who played her daughter in the drama. She said that despite the heavy tone of the drama, the young actor enlivened the atmosphere in the set. She added that the child star's charm made it impossible for co-stars and audiences not to fall in love with him.

It can be recalled that in the early episodes of Hi Bye Mama, production was met with criticism after it was revealed that a male child was cast for the role of Kim Tae Hee's daughter in the drama.

After backlash from viewers who were concerned that the role would cause the child to become confused about his gender identity, his mother assured that Seo Woo Jin had no issues with taking on the female part.

Production for Hi Bye Mama also explained the simple reason they cast Seo Woo Jin for the role.

They explained that Seo Woo Jin's striking resemblance to Kim Tae Hee, as well as his stable acting skills for his age were the clinchers that landed him the part, SCMP reported.
