Viewers should expect more intense scenes to come from JTBC's hit drama The World of the Married after production announced that all of the remaining episodes will be aired with a 19+ rating.

This means that viewers who are 19 years old and below are not recommended to watch the remaining six episodes. It can be recalled that The World of the Married was met with some criticism when it aired its eighth episode when viewers complained of excessive violence portraying a physical assault on Kim Hee Ae's character in the drama.

The drama explored the use of an experimental first-person perspective when filming the scene from the POV of the perpetrator which some viewers criticized as too traumatic especially for those with experience with domestic violence. Meanwhile, some praised the scene for being innovative and unique.

"In the second half, which marks the turning point, the psychological battle between Ji Sun Woo and Lee Tae Oh (Park Hae Joon) will begin again in earnest. The change in the relationship between the intertwined characters and the conflict between them will unfold further on the face of a completely different situation. To capture the characters' escalating conflict more realistically, we decided to rate [the rest of the episodes] 19+," the production team explained when they announced their decision issue a 19+ rating advisory.

Because of The World of the Married's success, the actors have opened up about the different reactions they have been getting from the drama.

According to actor Park Hae Joon, his effective portrayal of a husband who betrays his wife by having an affair has earned a variety of reactions from fans of the show and his friends.

He said he has been getting a lot of criticism from viewers of the show while his friends have been congratulating him non-stop. He said he is overwhelmed about the public's response to the drama and is unsure about how to respond about its success.

Kim Hee Ae also addressed concerns about the show's recent violent episode and assured that all precautions were taken to film safely. She also said even though Park Hae Joon and Han So Hee's characters were dislikable in the drama, viewers should not take things to heart because they are doing their best as actors.

"There are many dislikable characters in our drama such as Park Hae Joon and Han So Hee, but they give it their all. It's admirable seeing them acting while completely immersed in their roles," she said

The drama is well on its way to surpass Sky Castle's record to become the highest rated cable show in history.
