MacGyver season 4 episode 13 is arriving this week on CBS, with the title "Save + The + Dam + World." Things are going to be more intense than ever within this episode. The journey to bring Codex down takes an unexpected turn and loyalties are being questioned.
In MacGyver season 4 episode 13, the mission of Mac and Riley has been interrupted when the Phoenix team, Desi, and Russ move to stop Codex from detonating a weapon of mass destruction. The team will also discover the real reason why Russ purchased the Phoenix Foundation.
But beyond the story, there's also a question whether or not the episode serves as the season finale. It looks like this is the last one for now, but not the actual finale. There are reports indicating that this episode is the midseason finale, not the original finale of the season.
When the fourth installment has been renewed, it was just given a 13-episode order. But then, CBS has ordered another batch of installments. That only means more episodes are coming this season, though the series may likely take a hiatus for now.
One of the major issues here is that the production of these remaining episodes, reportedly, cut short because of the current global health crisis. It looks like the network has decided to delay these remaining episodes and there's no indication they'll be airing anytime soon.
According to CarterMatt, CBS may choose to save these episodes for fall to make sure there's a scripted show ready in case some other series aren't ready. There's no guarantee when the real-world health crisis will end, so it's still uncertain when will the production of other shows start again.
Meanwhile, it's worth noting that CBS isn't promoting MacGyver season 4 episode 13 as the finale or the midseason finale. But, lead star Lucas Till shared via Twitter that the episode is the "Part one of a two part finale." Also, the network is currently listing repeats airing in some of the upcoming Fridays.
While everything seems to be unclear at the moment, the episode may still deliver interesting stories. It would be nice to see Mac and Riley saving the day and eventually getting back with the rest of the Phoenix Team in the end.
