The war of words between President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama continues. The POTUS couldn't help himself but hit back at his predecessor for saying his administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic was an "absolute chaotic disaster." The 44th United States President also used this crisis to make an important call to support presidential nominee Joe Biden in the upcoming 2020 election in November.

In a leaked private call, Barack Obama revealed his assessment on the way Donald Trump handles the global health crisis in the U.S. This led him to believe that the Democrats should rally behind former vice president Joe Biden to defeat the current POTUS in the presidential election.

In the 30-minute talk with the members of the Obama Alumni Association, the former president stressed that the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus outbreak is a critical reminder for why a strong government leadership is needed during this time of crisis. This seemed to encourage his former staffers to support the campaign of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, CNN noted.

Barack Obama said the upcoming election is crucial because they're fighting against "long-term trends, in which being selfish, tribal, divided, and seeing others as an enemy, has become a stronger impulse in American life." "It's part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty," he said.

Although he knew that the COVID-19 pandemic would turn bad even with the best of governments, it would become an "absolute chaotic disaster" if the government's mindset is what's good for its leader and not for its people. This is the reason why he's going to spend a lot of time needed to campaign as hard as he can for Joe Biden.

As White House's press secretary Kayleigh McEnany dismissed Barack Obama's criticism, Donald Trump himself hit back at Michelle Obama's husband. According to Sky News, he bragged that his administration was "getting great marks," belittling Barack's response to the 2009 H1N1 swine flu outbreak during his term.

The former television personality called Barack Obama's then-response to the crisis a "disaster," adding that he "didn't have a clue." He also called Joe Biden "Sleepy Joe." As of this writing, there are over 1.3 million confirmed cases of coronavirus in the U.S. and more than 80,000 deaths. During the swine flu pandemic, on the other hand, there were almost 61 million cases in the country, but only fewer than 13,000 deaths.
