Facebook is debuting a new look to all users across the globe. According to the company, its redesigned web UI has a much faster loading time and should give your eyes a break by enabling Dark Mode.

Dark Mode was previously limited to a few markets, but the new look is now available to everyone who uses Facebook.

"We've grown since Facebook.com launched 16 years ago. We've built new features, optimized for new devices and operating systems, and expanded to hundreds of languages," said Facebook in an announcement. "Recently we'd focused on the mobile Facebook experience, and realized our desktop site had fallen behind. People need it to keep up."

Facebook has made it easier for its users to access groups, events, and advertisements, as well as improved how videos play on newsfeeds. The displays have a bigger text and sports a cleaner look, which is more soothing to the eyes. The social network said that the homepage will load faster and games can now be easily located. The desktop UI, in a way, has been made similar to its mobile counterpart.

Essentially, Dark Mode puts more of a focus on videos and photos and makes enjoying media more immersive. To enable this feature at Faceboo.com, here's what you should do:

  • Login to Facebook.com
  • On the upper right corner of the page, you should see a down arrow -- click it.
  • Locate the Switch to new Facebook option and click it.
  • You will be given two options: the light or dark theme. Choose the dark theme.

That's pretty much it. If at any time you want to toggle the Dark Mode option, click the top right arrow once more and you'll see a dedicated switch for dark mode.

Facebook for web's new streamlined navigation is for users who mostly use their desktop computers. With the improved home page and page transitions, the site has better performance, which is more aligned to the social media company's mobile app.

For users who manage Facebook pages, it is now easier to create events and ads. There's also now a preview option for groups that you may be starting in real-time, whether you're on a desktop or on mobile.

Facebook has promised it will continue to improve the user experience and will monitor the reactions of users. If you're keen on voicing out your opinion with the recent changes, simply go to your settings menu and click Give Feedback.
