A new book about Prince Andrew will reportedly show the origins of the royal's disgrace. According to author Nigel Cawthorne, who wrote Prince Andrew: The End of The Monarchy and Esptein, the Duke of York's scandalous behavior and associations with controversial personalities may be rooted in his spoiled childhood.

Cawthorne's biography cites that Prince Andrew, dubbed as Queen Elizabeth's favorite son by the press, was "indulged at every turn" when he was younger. This allegedly sparked his obsession for money, women and fame.

In a published excerpt, Cawthorne wrote that Prince Andrew was doted on by his mother as a baby. At such an early age, the Duke of York allegedly displayed bad temper and had the worst manners.

Apparently, the nannies had a nickname for Prince Andrew because he was a handful to care for. He was called Baby Grumpling for his tantrums. As a young boy, Prince Andrew was admonished by his father, Prince Philip, for calling a crowd he watched on TV as "those common people." His father reminded him that if it weren't for the common people, Prince Andrew won't be able to live as a prince.

Prince Andrew was admired for his handsome face and movie-star looks as a young man. He had such a self-confidence when he entered the Navy and was in the Falklands War. However, Cawthorne said that he didn't have a lot of friends in school and in the Navy as he was rude and obnoxious to the people around him. Even then, Prince Andrew also had poor judgment about people.

This perhaps explains why he associated with the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. As a trade ambassador, Prince Andrew also forged questionable connections including the son of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya's deposed leader.

The book, set for release on May 28, is the latest controversy hounding the Duke of York. Aside from his sex scandal in the Epstein case, Prince Andrew is also being sued for failing to pay for a house he bought in Switzerland.

Reports cited that Prince Andrew still owes the former owner of the house $8 million. The money was supposed to be paid in December 2019 but four months later, the payment hasn't come through.

A spokesperson for the Duke of York confirmed that there is a dispute. However, details of the legal matter cannot be divulged as its still under further discussions.
