Justin Bieber's new album "Swag" is fueling intense speculation about his marriage to Hailey Bieber as the pop star openly reflects on personal pain, redemption, and devotion across a series of emotional tracks. The 31-year-old Grammy winner, who welcomed son Jack Blues Bieber in 2024 with Hailey, uses the album to chronicle moments of tension and tenderness in his six-year marriage.
In the track "Walking Away," Bieber sings, "Tell me why you're throwing stones at my back - You know I'm defenseless," later adding, "We've been testing our patience. I think we better off if we just take a break and remember what grace is."
He continues in the same song, "Baby, I ain't walking away. You were my diamond. Gave you a ring. I made you a promise. I told you I'd change." The lyrics have drawn attention from fans interpreting them as direct admissions of past conflict in his relationship with Hailey, 28.
On another track, "Daisies," Bieber questions the foundation of their love, singing, "Do you love me or not? Head is spinnin', and it don't know when to stop." Yet the album takes a softer turn in "Go Baby," where he praises his wife's resilience: "Like water to a flower, babe, I know you need the rain." He affectionately references Hailey's Rhode lip gloss and expresses emotional support, singing, "Cry on my shoulder... stay by my side."
Hailey Bieber responded defiantly to public scrutiny by resharing the album cover-featuring the couple and their 10-month-old son-with the caption: "Is it finally clocking to you f--king losers?" The comment echoed her husband's viral confrontation with paparazzi last month, when he told them: "It's not clocking to you that I'm standing on business."
Hailey's strong message was also a response to persistent online speculation about their marriage. Despite the swirling rumors, she has publicly backed Bieber's release and posted Instagram Stories promoting the album, including a nod to the track "Daisies."
The couple, who married in 2018, has faced sustained media attention throughout their relationship. Earlier this year, Bieber publicly apologized for past behavior, including a fight during which he told Hailey she would never make the cover of Vogue. When she later did, he posted: "So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken." He later deleted the caption.
Hailey has also spoken candidly about her mental health struggles after childbirth. "Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I've ever gone through in my life," she told Vogue in May. "To be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, 'They're getting divorced,'... it is such a mindf--k."
Bieber has used his platform in recent months to reaffirm his bond with Hailey. On July 6, he posted intimate photos of the two embracing with the caption: "My forever n always."
His new album, "Swag," was released with major billboard promotions, including in Times Square, and continues to drive headlines with lyrics that many see as an unfiltered window into his private life.
