President Donald Trump revealed he was taking the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine to keep himself safe from the threats of COVID-19. Now, the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi gave him not-so-friendly advice, saying that he should never take the drug because he is "morbidly obese."

Nancy Pelosi revealed Donald Trump is at risk of adverse side effects of hydroxychloroquine for taking it without further studies. The POTUS believes the drug could be used as a potential coronavirus treatment, so he is, allegedly, taking it.

Speaking on CNN, the highest-ranking female elected official in the U.S. history expressed her concern over the President's decision to take the said medication. The US Food and Drug Administration and even the medical experts have yet to prove the effectiveness of this medicine to combat the coronavirus.

As the country's leader, the 80-year-old House Speaker said he rather not take something that the scientists have yet to approve. Nancy Pelosi then seemed to mock his weight, stating his age group or preferably his weight group, which is morbidly obese, should not do such a thing. She also believed that it is not a good idea to do so.

According to The Sunday Morning Herald, Donald Trump recently revealed that he has been taking daily doses of hydroxychloroquine for about a week and a half. His doctor, Sean P. Conley, explained in a White House press release that he and the President think taking the drug is "worth the possible harmful side effects."

Conley never denied that they had numerous discussions about the evidence against and for the use of hydroxychloroquine. However, they ended with the conclusion that its benefits outweighed the risk.

Alternatively, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a senior member of the White House's coronavirus task force, seemed to contradict Conley's claim. He doubts the use of hydroxychloroquine as COVID-19 treatment, as it has yet to be thoroughly tested.

Anyhow, Donald Trump insisted that he had read letters from frontline responders, who also, allegedly, taking the drugs to be safe. He even had a lot of positive calls about it, which he used as his evidence to prove its effectiveness.

Meanwhile, in his last full medical checkup in February 2019, Donald Trump passed the threshold to be considered obese with a Body Max Index of 30.4, The Guardian reported. However, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a man with a BMI of 40 is the one that can be considered "severely obese," or as to how Nancy Pelosi puts it, "morbidly obese." So, by the looks of it, Trump has yet to come to that level.
