Prince Philip is celebrating his 99th birthday today. Although he will only have a private celebration at Windsor Castle with his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, it will surely be something that he really wants. The royal couple may always be happy after an expert reveals the Duke of Edinburgh has a "naughty" sense of humor that always makes Her Majesty laughs.
Amid the lockdown and COVID-19 pandemic, Prince Philip is, reportedly, making Queen Elizabeth always smile. As they spend their self-isolation together, it is undoubtedly a happy one with the prince consort around.
In an interview with Hello! Magazine, Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty Magazine, revealed the Royal Highnesses are spending "a great deal of time" together today, which is the "silver lining" of the coronavirus. As her husband for more than 70 years, he has been supporting her "morally," like he always has that gives the Queen great comfort, especially during this difficult time.
The Royal Knight of the Garter is an integral part of her success and happiness. He also always makes her laugh with his "slightly naughty sense of humor," which still makes her amused until today.
Little also added that Queen Elizabeth would always "value that companionship" over if he was at the other end of the line. Phil Dampier, author of Prince Philip: Wise Words and Golden Gaffes, also confirmed that Prince Philip had the ability to make his wife laugh, The Sun noted.
He even said that they have the most "enormously strong partnership." Dampier believed that the foundation of their relationship came from his "independent mind." Although he is not the conventional sweet husband, he is always "bracing and supportive" of his spouse.
Meanwhile, Prince Philip is marking a great milestone of his 99th birthday today. According to Express, he and Queen Elizabeth will have a quiet lunch to celebrate this special occasion. Sadly, due to the lockdown, there will be no other members of the royal family or other guests that will be joining them.
This may even favor the duke as royal expert Christopher Warwick revealed that Prince Philip is a "no-fuss" guy. Despite the absence of their family members, they will surely be in contact with them through a video-link or telephone.
He is also convinced that because of Prince Philip's advanced years, there may be no physically-taxing events that may occur. As the royal family has been staying in touch through telephone calls and video calls as of late, the rest of them may greet the patriarch through Zoom.
