As Prince Andrew is in the middle of a big controversy, a lot of people are intrigued about what his father, Prince Philip, has to say. The Duke of York is once again in the headlines as the United States prosecutors want to question him over his connection with Jeffrey Epstein.

Although Prince Philip, who recently celebrated his 99th birthday, has yet to reveal an official statement on the issue, there are rumors he talked to Prince Andrew about it. As a lot of reports are made about the Duke of York, here is what Queen Elizabeth II's husband has to say.

According to The Sun, the Duke of Edinburgh told his son to "take his punishment" during the family crisis talks. To recall, Sarah Ferguson's former husband was forced to quit his royal role after experiencing mounting pressure due to his friendship with the criminal sex offender.

Allegedly, the father-of-two had a "tense meeting" with his dad after being criticized for not showing any empathy for the pedophile's young victims. A royal insider told The Daily Telegraph that although no screaming or shouting occurred, the family patriarch told him he had to step down from his royal duties "for the sake of the monarchy."

Prince Philip, reportedly, never liked "trial by the media." However, he is realistic enough to think that Prince Andrew's actions endanger the very core of the royal family.

To recall, the 60-year-old royal surprised everyone with his BBC interview last year due to his behavior. A lot of people complained that he never showed any remorse to Jeffrey Epstein's victims. However, royal watcher Nigel Cawthorne seemed to be not shocked at all.

Prince Andrew repeatedly denied that he had slept with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Jeffrey Epstein's alleged underage sex slave, and seemed to be "unsympathetic" to other young victims. In the book Cawthorne wrote, Prince Andrew: The End of the Monarchy and Epstein, he described Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's son as a spoiled brat, who grew up as an "entitled" and nasty guy, the New York Post noted.

In the book's adaptation in the Daily Mail, Cawthorne revealed that Prince Andrew had grown up spoiled. He had all the attention of his mother, while his dad was annoyed by his "high-handed manner." He was considered "a bit of a bully" to his male classmates and staff in grade school.

When he went to Gordonstoun, his classmates would describe him as "boastful and big-headed," who also loved raunchy jokes. However, he loved women and created what they called "Andy's Harem."

An official even told Cawthorne that Prince Andrew's relations around the world are dicey. He shows bad judgment about people, but his biggest downfall is his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, who lured him with private planes and girls.
