The father-in-law of Princess Eugenie is finally home after several weeks in the hospital as he struggled with the coronavirus. George Brooksbank suffered seriously with COVID-19 symptoms and he was on a ventilator for five weeks.

Princess Eugenie said on Saturday, June 20, that her father-in-law has been back home from the Royal Brompton Hospital some time ago but she is taking this chance to thank the hospital workers. It's the first time she has acknowledged George's fight with COVID-19 in public despite this being in the news for a few months now.

According to Hello, George contracted the virus in mid-March after a visit to France. He was taken to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital when he needed a ventilator and was hooked to this for five weeks. He was subsequently moved to Royal Brompton Hospital, where he got the care from experts who specializes in heart and lung problems for recovering COVID-19 patients.

In a video post on Instagram, Princess Eugenie extended a huge thank you to the hospital workers. She said that her father-in-law is the "miracle man" because of them.

The York royal also said that the hospital workers changed the course of the pandemic when they stepped up to care for those who have COVID-19. According to the princess, George personally felt that a healthcare worker was always on hand and could be relied upon when he was receiving treatments.

Princess Eugenie ended her video with another thank you on behalf of her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and his in-laws. The Brooksbank family say that George is now "absolutely fine."

The York royal followed up her post about her father-in-law with a Father's Day message. She shared a previously unseen photo of herself as a little girl with her dad, Prince Andrew, where they were both drinking from similar blue glasses as they sat on the ground. Princess Eugenie also posted a photo of George and his family with herself, which was taken before he got sick.

There were hardly any negative comments about the photos, considering Prince Andrew's legal troubles in the U.S. because of the Jeffrey Epstein case. Instead, fans complemented Princess Eugenie's Father's Day post and said that, more than anything, they are happy that George is doing alright after nearly losing his life from the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie and Jack have been staying with Prince Andrew at the Royal Lodge amid the coronavirus lockdown since March. The couple kept busy doing charity work despite dealing with the pandemic crisis themselves, with George's hospitalization.
