It was, reportedly, Prince William's dream to have a career in the military, but Queen Elizabeth II, allegedly, stopped him. Due to the Duke of Cambridge's stand as the second in line to the throne and other commitments as the future King, he had to give up his dream career.

Although Prince William was trained to be a helicopter pilot, Queen Elizabeth II insisted he had to stop doing so. Royal expert said on the Channel 5 documentary, William and Kate: Too Good to be True, Kate Middleton's husband was not allowed to be on the frontline because the "ultimate boss said no."

According to Express, the father-of-three did not get the permission to continue his service in the British armed forces. Although he seemed to be desperate to stay, he was not allowed to be near the frontline.

Her Majesty, the so-called ultimate boss, denied his wish as he is the second in line to the throne. Despite the denial, he needed to retrain to help others, which something "meant an awful lot to him."

Prince William trained as a search and rescue pilot on Anglesey and saved a lot of lives when he flew around the British Isles. It was a meaningful role for him, but he found it terrible that he could not continue to do it.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl added that Prince Charles and Princess Diana's firstborn used his time as a rescue pilot to avoid the scrutiny he suffered after his marriage with Kate Middleton. He flew medics to emergencies for about two years.

He spent the early years of his married life out of the spotlight to pursue the career he wanted. Knowing that his and Kate Middleton's life would be filled with royal duty someday, he did what he wanted for the time being.

Queen Elizabeth plays as Prince William's mentor, preparing him for his future role as the next King after his father, Prince Charles. Hence, Cheat Sheet reported they also have a business relationship.

E! News royal correspondent Melanie Bromley described their relationship as "half family and half business." Although it is kind of complicated, it cannot be denied that they have a close bond.

Royal historian Robert Lacey added that they have a special bond as the current and future leader of the monarchy. Prince William sees Queen Elizabeth as the "best role model." So, at the tender age of five, he already started his training as the future King.
