Melania Trump once again faced criticisms for the dress she wore at the Independence Day celebration at Mount Rushmore in Keystone, South Dakota, with Donald Trump. Despite being a $2,485 dress and made by Alexander McQueen, it was never safe for scrutiny.

The dress in question was a white sleeveless ensemble with a thin belt around, covered with squiggles that critics compared to doodles made by a child. The students of Central Saint Martinsindeed indeed created the sketch as a collaboration between Alexander McQueen and the London art pupils, Paper Magazine.

The squiggles were the students' impression of dancing girls during one of their classes that were hand embroidered to the controversial outfit. However, critics said it seemed Donald Trump was the one who drew the lines using a marker.

According to Express, several social media users shared their thoughts about the First Lady's dress. One fan made fun of it, saying the President of the United States used a sharpie to mark his wife's outfit before they left to attend the Independence Day celebration.

Another one asked if someone could get the sharpie away from the POTUS as he was starting to draw on the former model's dress. Someone also said that Donald Trump got bored and drew all over Melania Trump's white ensemble with a sharpie while on Air Force One.

The presidential couple went to Mount Rushmore as the President gave a speech about the "cancel culture" after protesters started to attack statues and monuments across the country. According to The Pavlovic Today, pool and pre-credential press attended the event, waiting at the South Lawn while listening to the patriotic music performed by U.S. Air Force Band, Donald Trump's Own Marine Band and the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters.

The event was also attended by the health care workers, military, law enforcement, and their families. They were all seated at circular tables complete with table cloths and flowers. There were also military flyovers and fireworks.

When Donald and Melania Trump went out of the balcony, the band played "Hail to the Chief." They then walked down in the middle of the South Lawn, while there were still no guests and took the stage.

Trade adviser Peter Navarro and campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley were also seen at the event. Interior Secretary David Bernhardt called Donald Trump's speech "unifying and inspiring."

Someone shouted "four more years," referring to Donald Trump's stay in the office. The Air Force One flew by overhead, and the U.S. Army U.S. Golden Knights Parachute Team performed three maneuvers - mass formation, side-by-side formation, and the drop flag. Although the majority of guests were not wearing masks, some were donning it.
