Kate Middleton was already years tied to the Royal Family when she met Meghan Markle. As it happened, the former actress and Prince Harry, reportedly, met in late 2016.
After their "blind date," reports said that things went well for the couple as they continued seeing each other. But, despite dating for months, it was only in early 2017 when the royal-born Prince, reportedly, introduced Meghan to his family, particularly to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Several publications suggested that the two women had always wanted to meet since 20016. But, regardless, of the date of their meeting, Meghan Markle, later on, said that it was an "incredible" moment, according to the Daily Star.
The Duchess of Sussex also, reportedly, "praised" her husband's family for welcoming her. Months after meeting them, they decided to tie the knot, and everyone was excited for them, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, as per the reports at that time.
Speaking to BBC's Mishal Husain following their engagement, the engaged couple, reportedly, talked about that first meeting in 2017 with the rest of the British Royal Family. As stated, Meghan Markle had one word to describe the Duchess of Cambridge.
As Prince Harry recalled how the introduction went inside Kensington Palace, he also shared how his brother and sister-in-law were "longing" to meet Meghan. He then said that Kate Middleton "has been, absolutely-". But, before he could go on to describe the Duchess, Meghan Markle "interrupted" him and said that Kate is "wonderful." The Duke of Sussex, later on, agreed, and deemed her sister-in-law "amazing."
For months, even after the royal wedding in 2018, things went great for the two couples. Fans were excited and even dubbed them as the "Royal Fab Four," PureWow reiterated.
However, it all seemingly went down south sometime in late 2018. As stated, rumors and allegations of a "rift" between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle filled the headlines.
It remains unclear, though, as to what has caused the alleged rift. Nevertheless, publications, along with sources, have attested that it all started with Prince Harry and Prince William.
As pointed out, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were not all down for the idea of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex marrying just after a few months of getting to know each other. Alongside these claims, rumors of jealousy between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton were also highlighted.
To date, it has appeared before the public that the two couples are not on good terms, especially the royal siblings.
