Masks have been one of the most effective weapons experts want people to use nowadays as we all fight against the coronavirus or the COVID-19. These masks are very effective in filtering body fluids, especially the saliva, which is one of the main ways coronavirus can transfer from one person to another. 

These masks act like a barrier that protects the wearer and other people against the risks of acquiring the coronavirus. Given this reason, local governments are now urging and even requiring their people to use this. 

There are several kinds of masks that we often see being used by a lot of people nowadays. Fabric masks are what we are mostly aware of. But did you know that there are also copper and gold masks?

COPPER MASKS

Copper masks were developed seven years ago by alumna Phylis KhunThat was after Kuhn saw the need for a mask, which she can use as a protection for herself against the culprit of her colds whenever she travels. 

With determination to end this problem, she decided to develop a mask, which is more efficient and effective than any other mask available in the market. That was when she discovered the anti-inflammatory capabilities and potent sanitation of the element copper. Two years later, the copper masks have finally been introduced in the market promising better protection to the people.

But amid all these, experts are warning people as they purchase and use these copper masks. Researchers reveal copper doesn't have anything special that could help protect you from COVID-19 more than any other mask, as reported by NY Times.

GOLD MASKS

Nobody would think that face masks can be used as a golden accessory, but this Indian from Pimpri-Chinchwad of Pune District. Shankar Kurade became so creative he then decided to get himself a mask made from gold, as shared by NY Post.

The mask, which allegedly cost Rs 2.89 lakh or 3.8 thousand dollars, was made with pure gold with tiny holes in it so Kurade won't suffer from difficulty in breathing. According to Kurado, though he is still unsure whether the mask could protect him from the coronavirus, he would still love to wear it as he adores wearing gold ornaments all the time. 

Kurado further shares how he was able to come up with this idea. He said, he got it from a man living in Kolhapur, who he saw wearing a mask made from silver metal. 

It is not just Kurado who grew fond of the golden mask, but also his family as well. He even has plans of designing one for them too in the future.
