Ivanka Trump, who works as one of her father's top Senior Advisors, joins Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos, in urging schools in the United States to reopen soon. Instead of resorting to online teaching and classes, the administration is, reportedly, forcing American schools to require students to attend classes "physically" despite the continued surge of COVID-19 cases across the country.

The US President, alongside the Education Secretary, "demanded" these among schools by "threatening" to cut off the federal funding, according to Politico. It is also pointed out that most of these funds go to "low-income" and public schools.

Ivanka Trump, reportedly, weighed in on the matter following the demands made by her father and DeVos. As stated, she took her thoughts to social media and made a "special appeal," which largely concerns the "single" and "working" mothers.

In her tweet, the First Daughter said that it is a "must" to prioritize the safe reopening of schools in the United States. She then went on to explain that single mothers will "bear the burden" if the schools continue to remain close. Ivanka also pointed out that these "burdens" come in the form of "lower pay," less job "security," and overwhelm, in general.

Several experts, indeed, agree that single mothers may face much more stress amid the lockdown, The Mercury News reported. However, reopening the schools in the county may, reportedly, pose more risks to both young ones and adults.

It is noted that the United States now has over 3.4 million cases of COVID-19, with a total number of 137,782 deaths. Several reports also shared that the cases have continued to increase in recent weeks following the easing up of restrictions across the country.

Accordingly, Ivanka Trump, reportedly, met with criticisms on social media through her post. As stated, many netizens slammed her and her father, Donald Trump, for being more "concerned" about their "political standing" considering that the 2020 Presidential Election is fastly approaching.

Some individuals then, reportedly, asked Ivanka Trump whether she will send her kids back to school if it reopens according to the administration's demands. Others, however, blasted her and called her out for "hypocrisy."

There are also netizens who pointed out that her kids, as well as, Donald Trump's, mainly Barron Trump, do not go to low-income and public schools. Some even said that the First Family has the means to hire professionals that will allow their kids to home school

Despite the inquiries, Ivanka Trump, as well as the First Couple, did not reportedly respond whether they will send their kids back to school. There is no clear indication, as well, as to what they will do when schools reopen.
