Ben Mulroney is categorically denying that his wife, Jessica Mulroney is writing a tell-all book about her former best friend Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. The TV presenter also called out a report saying that Jessica has been desperate to reconnect with Prince Harry's wife.
All it took was for Ben to write one word on Twitter to belie the rumors about his wife and Meghan Markle. The son of Canada's former prime minister simply wrote on Twitter that the story, first reported on the Daily Mail, was "false."
Sources have been saying that Jessica's friendship with Meghan was ending even before the former was embroiled in a public spat with an Instagram influencer. Apparently, the Duchess of Sussex felt that Jessica has been using their closeness to be in the headlines.
Meghan apparently found a way to distance herself from Jessica after her very public fight with Sasha Exeter, a Black American social media influencer. Exeter claimed that Jessica threatened her in a private message because of she took offense to a statement that Exeter posted about supporting Black Lives Matter.
The controversy led to Jessica dropping out from all of her TV shows. Ben eventually also dropped out from his Canadian entertainment talk show, where he was host for 18 years.
Ben said in statement that he and his wife are going to work on themselves to learn more and understand their blind spots when it comes to racism. Previously, Jessica said that she cannot be a racist because her best friend has been one of the most talked about Black Americans in the world.
Sources said that since this controversy, Jessica has been trying to reach out to Meghan to no avail. According to reports, her PR team want her and Meghan to be seen together to dissuade talks that they are no longer friends but the Duchess of Sussex apparently refused this proposal.
Jessica is also, reportedly, attempting to make a return in the TV scene but agents have told her team that she will not likely land gigs because of her ruined friendship with Meghan Markle. They've been friends for 10 years that Jessica is, allegedly, devastated over the big snub and lack of support from the duchess.
Since her fight with Exeter, Jessica has also chosen to keep quiet on social media. Meghan Markle's former best friend said that she will use this time to reflect on what happened.
